Kitsap Farms greenhouse glowing at dusk beneath tall evergreens in Hansville, WA

About the Farm

Kitsap Farms is a family farm in Hansville, Washington. Angela and Harold founded it in 2016 to grow fresh, local food while protecting the environment for future generations.

We raise koi and grow salad greens, lettuce and leafy vegetables in aquaponic and hydroponic greenhouses. The fish feed the plants, the plants clean the water, and solar power and compost heat keep everything growing through the winter.

As a CSA member, you get a share of that harvest every week or every other week, picked fresh for you.

FAQ & Policies

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members sign up for a share of the farm's harvest and receive fresh produce on a regular schedule. Your membership gives our small farm steady support, and gives you greens harvested just before they reach your table.

Where is my produce grown?

Your share is grown at Kitsap Farms in Hansville, Washington, in our aquaponic and hydroponic greenhouses. Check the label: a fish logo means it was grown aquaponically, and a water logo means it was grown hydroponically.

Can I choose what's in my box?

Each box is farmer's choice. We pack what's freshest and at its best that week. Want more of something? Add extras from our members-only add-on shop before your order cutoff.

What if something is missing from my box?

Box contents can change with the harvest. If something you expected is missing or isn't right, reply to your weekly order text or email angie@kitsapfarms.com and we'll sort it out.

Which share size is right for me?

The Solo Share ($25 a box) is perfect for individuals and couples doing light meal prep. The Family Share ($40 a box) is made for families of 3–4 or households who cook regularly. Both are available weekly or every other week.

Member Tips & Resources

Keeping Your Greens Fresh

We harvest your greens to order each week, so they come to you at their freshest.

‍

A few simple habits keep them crisp all week:

  • Get your box into the fridge right away. Warm cars and sunny porches wilt greens fast. If you're running errands, make the farm your last stop.
  • Keep salad mix sealed and cold in the crisper drawer until you're ready to eat it.
  • Store lettuce heads in a bag or container with a slightly damp paper towel to keep the leaves crisp.

Remember to rinse all produce before eating!

Kitchen Tools & Gadgets

A few simple tools make it easy to enjoy your greens all week.

  • Salad spinner: Wash and dry greens in seconds so they stay crisp in the fridge.
  • Chef's knife: Makes quick work of lettuce, herbs and seasonal vegetables.
  • Glass containers: Keep washed greens and herbs fresh and easy to grab.
  • Sheet pans: Roast kale and seasonal vegetables in one batch.
  • Salad dressing jar: Shake up a week's worth of vinaigrette at once.
